Silkscreen attempt

Ok, so I didn't create the silk screen itself. I had someone else do it. But it really was a learning experience, trying to manage the process, how to unclog the screen, choosing the colors and what material to print on. In the end, the ugly prints were used at home. Realized the white pillow cases were a bit thin but they look really pretty!

New Year coming up!

With cleaning, setting up the house and all, I realize that I need breathing space. Space for my mind to roam on things less than mundane. Found this list on the web that might help:

More thoughts and drawings.

So maybe not everyday. I skipped a few days of sketching for myself to draw for other people and for school but then I have no need for excuses. I draw for pleasure and enjoyment. Hoping that I get to capture some skill I used before. So here are a few.

Drawing a day

Thinking of doing a drawing a day thing. Got my lovely handy-dandy notebook and pretty pens on hand...The thought came with wanting to remember what I'm capable of doing. Things that I do everyday are only part of what I am, part of what I can do. It was so easy to forget that I used to draw and write, just because. Used to devour books and dream of them afterwards. So I stopped wondering and will start doing. Hopefully, this blog will see a lot more of my work and my students.

Story Writing Workshop, Summer 2010

Finished the workshop. Stories had already been edited and re-edited. Then there were the drawings. Had everyone contribute something. And they were great! Learned that there are keys to opening a person's understanding. And as a teacher, I have to find those keys, wherever thay may lie. And finding them is part of the fun-filled process.

I was looking for an old file and stumbled across these invitations I made so long ago. Fun!

Nothing beats a hand-written card.

I'm testing designs for note cards for future sale. I like the black and white feel of note cards, they're self-sealing too, having a little tab at the back. They still need work though, the "Thank you" cards look a little bare.

All illustrations are hand-drawn on my tablet. : )

Oh, if have any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear it.

I'm making monogrammed note cards. Well, soon.

It's an idea that Creative Ad has encouraged me to do. And why not? I tried making a monogram of the letter z, getting inspiration from an art nouveau poster,...but it still doesn't look right. Will work on it!

For school
